Additional information on this website
This section was written by us and is not part of the legal texts of the IT-Recht Kanzlei. It describes functions of this website that the text above does not mention individually.
Enquiry form (samples, quote, advice, product catalogue)
Through the form you send us your company, contact person and email address, for sample requests also the delivery address, and voluntarily a phone number, place of delivery, application, protection requirement, expected requirement, requested products and message. A script on this website's server forwards the details by email to info@dssafetywear.de; the email is sent through the hosting provider's mail service. The details are not stored on the web server and no external form service is used. The mailbox info@dssafetywear.de is operated on Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online); the contracting party is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, and Microsoft's data protection addendum applies.
The purpose is to process your enquiry and, for sample requests, to send the samples. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where you yourself wish to become a contracting party; if you enquire on behalf of a company, it is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest being the answering of business enquiries. The required fields are needed to process the enquiry; without them we cannot answer it. We delete the details when the enquiry has been dealt with. If business results, we keep documents within the framework of statutory obligations, in particular under Section 257 HGB and Section 147 AO (up to ten years). The form also transmits the address of the page of this website from which you came to the form (the path only, for example “/en/gloves/”, no browsing history), so that we can see which content leads to enquiries. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
To protect against mass enquiries, the server stores for no more than one hour a hash value (checksum) of your IP address together with the time of the enquiry, not the IP address itself. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in an abuse-free form).
Cookies and saved items
Without your consent, this website sets no cookies. One exception that uses no cookie is the saved items list: when you click the heart on a product, your browser stores the article numbers of your selection, their order and your own notes in your device's local storage (localStorage) so that the list is still there on your next visit. This data stays on your device; we neither receive nor read it. Only when you share the list by email yourself or take it over into an enquiry do the article numbers reach the recipients you choose or us, your notes do not.
The storage takes place only on your explicit click and is strictly necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). No consent is therefore required for the saved items list. You can delete the list on the Saved items page with “Clear list” or remove the website data in your browser. Beyond that, this website stores no information on your device and reads none without your consent. We remember your choice in the consent banner in your browser's local storage (entry “ds_consent”, 180 days); this is strictly necessary for asking for consent (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). The glove finder and the search filter only in your browser and store no entries. The audience measurement, which runs only with your consent, is described in the following section.
Audience measurement with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
With your consent, we measure how our website is used. For this we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
Purposes. We statistically evaluate which pages and languages are used, whether visitors open data sheets and documents, whether they submit the enquiry form, and whether they move from our site to our shop. We use this to improve content, navigation and our offer. We do not use the data for personalised advertising.
Legal basis. Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (storing information on, and accessing information from, your device). Without your consent, Tag Manager is not loaded, no analytics cookie is set, and no data is sent to Google.
Withdrawal. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future: click “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page and choose “Decline”. When you withdraw, we delete the analytics cookies in your browser. Processing up to the withdrawal remains lawful. We store your choice in your browser for 180 days and ask again afterwards.
Data processed. After you consent, Google Analytics records events such as page views, the page and language viewed, time, clicks on links to our shop, opening of documents, the successful submission of a form (only the fact that it was submitted, not its content), language changes, the origin of the visit, technical details (browser, operating system, screen size) and approximate location (country and region). According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We do not transmit names, email addresses or form entries.
Cookies and identifiers. Google Analytics sets a randomly generated identifier in cookies (_ga and _ga_<identifier>, lifetime up to 2 years) on your device to recognise returning visitors.
Link to our shop. Our brand websites and our online shop belong to DS SafetyWear. If you have consented and click a link to our shop, we append a parameter (_gl) to the address. This lets us recognise that the visit and the purchase belong together and evaluate which pages and languages lead to enquiries and orders.
Storage period. Event data is stored in Google Analytics for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Recipients and third countries. Google processes the data on our behalf (data processing under Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. This relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where Google LLC is certified, and additionally on standard contractual clauses. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Your rights. Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: see the sections on the controller and on your rights in this privacy policy.
Google Ads: ad performance measurement and remarketing
If you allow “Advertising (Google Ads)” in the cookie banner or choose “Allow all”, we use Google Ads. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
Purposes
- Conversion tracking: We learn whether a visit from one of our ads led to an enquiry via our form or to a visit to our shop. We only see aggregated figures, not individual persons.
- Remarketing: Visitors to our pages may later see our ads in Google services and on partner sites. For this, Google assigns your browser to a visitor list, e.g. “Visitors of hi5gloves.eu”.
Data processed
- Cookies and similar identifiers, e.g.
_gcl_auand_gcl_aw - the ad click ID (GCLID)
- pages visited
- time
- device and browser
- IP address
We do not send names, email addresses or the content of your form to Google.
Legal basis: your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. The Google Ads cookies are then deleted.
Retention
- Google Ads cookies are stored in your browser for up to 90 days.
- Membership of a visitor list ends automatically after 500 days without a new visit.
Transfers to third countries: Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The basis is the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
More information: policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Not used: enhanced conversions (sending hashed email addresses) and Google Signals.

Links to the shop contain campaign parameters (UTM) showing which page of this website you come from. The shop's privacy policy applies to processing in the shop; transfers to third countries, in particular the USA, may take place with the shop service provider Shopify, details are given there.

The competent supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (ldi.nrw.de).
